The Needle and the Damage Done" is a song by Neil Young that describes the destruction caused by the heroin addiction of musicians he knew including his friend and Crazy Horse bandmate Danny Whitten.

I sing the song because I love the man I know that some of you don't understand Milk-blood to keep from running out. I've seen the needle and the damage done A little part of it in everyone But every junkie's like a settin' su. N. Neil Young Lyrics. album: "Harvest" (1972). My computer says damage "dove" but i coulda sworn it was done. This is, of course, off the album Harvest, which is to me the best Neil Young album (that I've heard - only own 5 thus far) Everyone should own this album, songs like Harvest, Heart of Gold, Needle and the Damage Done, and Old Man make this a pure classic. Pete from Oak Park, Il I'm a Neil young fan because of "be the rain" its an awesome song and should definitely be added to the database. As for old man, it was one of the first Neil Young songs I heard and I always loved the banjo on this song.

Old man, take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me The whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes And you can tell that's true. Lullabies, look in your eyes Run around the same old town Doesn't mean that much to me To mean that much to you I've been first and last Look at how the time goes past But I'm all alone at last Rolling home to you. Old man, take a look at my life I'm a lot like you I need someone to love me The whole day through Ah, one look in my eyes And you can tell that's true.

This is a classic Neil Young track. Neil is just totally where it's at, even after all these years. Great for working your arpeggiated pick strumming accuracy and just cool fun to play! Buffalo Springfield Again. This is one of my personal favourite tunes by Neil Young, fun to play and loads of interesting things going on.
