In 1974, Seger formed the Silver Bullet Band. Its original members were guitarist Drew Abbott, drummer and backing vocalist Charlie Allen Martin, keyboardist and backing vocalist Rick Manasa, bass guitarist Chris Campbell, and saxophonist and backing vocalist Alto Reed. With this new band sitting in occasionally, Seger released the album Seven (1974), which contained the Detroit-area hard-rock hit "Get Out of Denver". This track was a modest success and charted at nationally. Seger's take on Eugene Williams' "Tryin' to Live My Life Without You" became a Top Five hit from Nine Tonight and the album would go on to sell 4 million copies. Seger released the acclaimed The Distance in December of 1982.

Live Bullet introduced Bob Seger to a wide audience, revealing a rocker of unbridled passion and a songwriter of considerable talent. Prior to its release, Seger had been toiling away, releasing seven albums and touring constantly ever since his debut scraped the national consciousness in 1968

The Silver Bullet Band was formed in 1974. Its original members were: Drew Abbott, guitar Charlie Allen Martin, drums Rick Mannassa, keyboards Chris Campbell, bass guitar Alto Reed, saxophones, flutes, acoustic guitar, keyboards and percussion. Seger himself did all lead vocals and plays guitar and piano.

Album:-- Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band ‎–Live Bullet in the againt the wind cover.

Alongside the multiplatinum Night Moves, 'Live' Bullet made 1976 Bob Seger’s breakthrough year. Recorded in the band’s hometown stronghold of Detroit, Bullet is a perfect specimen of no-fuss rock ’n' roll, drawing on what was already more than a decade of material, from inspired covers ( Bo Diddley, Tina Turner’s Nutbush City Limits ) to now-timeless originals ( Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man, the journeyman’s lament Turn the Page ). You can almost hear Seger turning himself inside-out onstage-or, in the words of the band’s introducer: You are here because you want the real thing.
