For Michael Chapman's early fans, the 1971 release of Wrecked Again, his fourth and final album for Harvest was a return to the glories of Rainmaker and Fully Qualified Survivor. He'd disowned his third album, Window, claiming it was an unfinished series of acoustic demos released by the label while he was on tour for an album he fully intended to be electric. This bears weight since some of its songs have remained in the songwriter's live set into the 21st century.

Michael Chapman (born 24 January 1941, Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire, England) is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. He became well known in the folk clubs of the late 1960s, as well as on the 'progressive' music scene, and has recorded over 40 albums to date.
Following Light In The Attic’s acclaimed reissues of British singer, songwriter and hugely talented psych, folk and rock guitarist Michael Chapman’s seminal albums Fully Qualified Survivor and Rainmaker, comes 1971’s Wrecked Again, his final for EMI’s seminal stoner imprint Harvest, home to Kevin Ayers and Syd Barrett. Like other artists in the stable, Chapman’s music contains a drugged-out feel, sublime guitar playing and intense lyrics, yet Chapman’s career was not a pet project. Buried in EMI’s release schedule and afforded no promotional budget, Wrecked Again is his lost classic.
Following 1969's great Rainmaker and 1970's classic Fully Qualified Survivor, Chapman released Wrecked Again in 1971. It was his final record for EMI imprint Harvest Records, and also acts as a sort of hinge in Chapman's career from folk-and blues-based early records to the more rock-oriented material that would come later. So Wrecked Again-now reissued, like its two predecessors, by Light in the Attic-was initially released at a time of experimentation and breaking new ground for Chapman
