Frédéric Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 2 in B-flat minor, Op. 35, is a piano sonata in four movements. Chopin completed the work while living in George Sand's manor in Nohant, some 250 km (160 mi) south of Paris, a year before it was published in 1840. The first of the composer's three mature sonatas (the others being the Piano Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58 and the Sonata for Piano and Cello in G minor, Op. 65), the work is considered to be one of the greatest piano sonatas of the literature.
Frédéric Chopin composed his Piano Sonata No. 58, in 1844 and dedicated it to Countess Émilie de Perthuis. Along with the previous sonata, this is considered to be one of Chopin's most difficult compositions, both technically and musically. The sonata consists of four movements, a similar structure to the second sonata, with a lyrical largo rather than a funeral march. Allegro maestoso (in B minor, ending in B major). Scherzo: Molto vivace (in E-flat major).
Frédéric Chopin's Piano Sonata No. 35 was written mainly in 1839 at Nohant, near Châteauroux in France, though the third movement, the funeral march, had been composed as early as 1837. Sonata No. 2, 2nd Movement. Pro. 1 part, 8 pages, 06:24, 6 years ago, 3,180 views.
Fréderic Chopin completed his Piano Sonata no. 2 in B flat minor, op. 35, in 1839. This work is often nicknamed Funeral March in reference to its most popular Marcia Funebre third movement, which was written two years earlier than the rest of the sonata. This movement was later adapted for orchestral by both Leopold Stokowski and Sir Edward Elgar, and played in a number of well known funerals (the original piece had been played at the graveside during Chopin's own burial)
